Yelp

morning broke

so am I

pen and paper on standby

waiting to catch

a discounted flight

to the other side.

phone on table

beckons dial for help

like cheese on bread

in a hot skillet

when it melts.

Yelp, I’m almost awake

set to take

whatever life cooks up

maybe I should bake a cake.
