A spell

She read the instructions carefully

as the black cat crossed her path

to avoid being part of the brew

knowing you only get nine lives

then your screwed.

I sat in wonder waiting

for her wrath

knowing I had also crossed her path

once too often.

I wish y’all a safe Halloween

and keep in mind I might not be

the same come tomorrow

for a spell.
