Battered, words scattered
pieces of a puzzle unlocked
perfection glares upon water
I’ll never walk on.
In this attempt of living life
I fancy the waves splashing below
look close, I’m there in the undertow
trying to be a cocky kid again.
As I stare out feeling content
quickly determined this can’t be
for I’m just a molecule of dust
fighting air for privileged space.
Should this light ever go dim, or out
darkness shall be another lost friend
who finally returned home
walked out of dreams.

May I ask, where is the lighthouse? It’s a beautiful photo.

Two Harbors, Minnesota State Park.
This one is named Split Rock Lighthouse. Taken while camping in 2011. Thank you🌻
