To place a tulip in a mason jar

on a canvas blank

is useless without wishing

for a starry night

to bring to life such beauty

like a yellow finch in flight.

Someone, somewhere is hoping

this picture decorates a room

replaces all those others

taken down once thought to help

coping.

Dreams are useless

unless they come true

find a tulip

be thankful you

can bloom as beautiful.
