before digging

Before digging keep in mind

you are about to interfere

where no bell has rung

in years.

No electrical juice runs through

this depleted scene

though a warning exists

it is like life often forgotten

among the ruins.

A bird once sat on this fence

but greed caused it to fly away

in fact this whole area is now

student housing and just waiting

for tuition’s to rise again

before digging deeper into pockets

without ringing a bell.
