Each Spring

ladybird beetle

Each Spring she would welcome

Ladybird beetles into her garden

knowing they would help her

create and maintain beauty

seen in winter dreams.

She would smile, name each one

while recalling her toil

muscle aches and fresh dirt tilled

sit outside, wait while sipping tea

for beauty to bloom, grow.
