Don’t ye be a cryin’

Don’t ye be a cryin’

when the noose snaps my neck

I still be lovin’ ya

even after death.

You be the brightest light

ever enter my life

and I be a cryin’

cause you ain’t my wife.

Now don’t ye be a missin’ me

to darn much

cause I reckon you know

I loved ye such

enough to be strung up

after spillin’ my guts.

I darn near got away

with stealin’ yer heart

but the law is ready now

to make me pay for that crime

but ye be knowin’ until the end of time

I loved ye silly girl

you were a mine.

So long my rose of love

your beauty made my crooked life

know a  blessin’ in disguise

and I sure gonna miss those eyes

that smiled and shined

brighter than a million stars

out on the plains each night.

Oh my little missy

I love ya so.
