Commotion

I want to cover my ears

as waves of commotion buzz

while looking at my plastic bag

filled with hoarded pills and dreams.

I pay a fee to view myself

in spite of the cost

close my hazel eyes drift back

an hour or two

to capture what fell from my heart

in hopes those pieces will tell

of magic left by your spell.

It doesn’t seem to be worthwhile

knowing commotion was all that swayed

as tears began to water the soil

I knew love was just a total stranger

in search of a fool

a fool that only knew how to love…

commotion
