Look into his eyes

witness the knowledge

another season has begun

summer flew by

now leaves, golden

scattered about all around

ripe pickings for worms

feed the desire before winter

surely to come, along with snow

frozen ground.

 

Alluring moments his to take

basking on a lazy afternoon

not questioning reasons

seasons always change

accepting what may come

chest out proud.
