In Paradise

in paradise

Feeling an autumn  breeze
softly embrace my face
knowing life is
merely a vice.
Some days are strange
perspectives get rearranged
words become hard to say
but it’s worth the pause
to grab some light
be on my way.
Here in paradise
among other objects that decay
I discover what is real
behind door number four
not once wishing I had chosen
number two, perhaps three
never one
for it is a silent rule
those are the doors that hold
you back from tomorrow
in paradise
where life is simple to comprehend
in the end.
